Balancing Business and Community: How Prosperon Supports My Journey
As Finance Director of Prosperon Networks and President of Gloucester Quays Rotary, I am often asked how I manage to balance the responsibilities of a demanding business role with the commitments of leading a vibrant Rotary club. The answer is simple: at Prosperon, community engagement isn’t seen as a distraction from work, but rather as an essential part of who we are as people and professionals.
From the outset, Prosperon has recognised that employees are at their best when they are able to pursue passions beyond their day job. The company has created a culture where volunteering, charity work, and community leadership are not just permitted, but actively encouraged. It is this supportive environment that has enabled me to dedicate meaningful time to Gloucester Quays Rotary and to champion the causes that matter most to me.
A Culture of Giving Back
Prosperon’s ethos has always been about more than technology, our leadership team also places huge importance on corporate responsibility. Each member of staff is encouraged to give back to the community in ways that are personally fulfilling. Whether that means supporting a local sports club, mentoring young people, or fundraising for a chosen charity, Prosperon makes space for these activities within the rhythm of working life.
This commitment goes far beyond words on a page, it is lived daily. I have experienced first-hand the encouragement, flexibility, and recognition given to those of us who step into voluntary roles. It is thanks to this culture that I am able to serve as Rotary President while still driving Prosperon’s financial strategy forward
Supporting Charities Close to My Heart
Through my Rotary work and personal commitment, I am fortunate this year to support several charities that make an extraordinary difference:
- The Nelson Trust – A pioneering organisation that works with people recovering from addiction, helping them rebuild their lives and futures.
- The Hollie Gazzard Trust – Created in memory of Hollie Gazzard, this trust delivers education and support to reduce domestic abuse and promote personal safety.
- The Big Space Cancer Appeal – Raising vital funds to improve cancer treatment facilities and provide hope for families affected by the disease.

Rotary: Service Above Self
For those less familiar with Rotary International, it is one of the world’s largest and most respected service organisations. With 1.4 million members across more than 200 countries, Rotary brings together professionals and community leaders to take action on pressing humanitarian challenges. From eradicating polio to supporting local food banks, the motto “Service Above Self” reflects the spirit that unites us. Gloucester Quays Rotary is proud to be part of this global movement, delivering impact both locally and internationally.
Business and Community in Harmony
Prosperon’s active encouragement of voluntary work demonstrates a powerful truth: when businesses support their people to thrive outside the office, everyone benefits. Staff feel more engaged, communities are strengthened, and the business itself gains through enhanced creativity, wellbeing, and purpose.
For me, the ability to serve as both Finance Director and Rotary President is a privilege that has only been possible because of Prosperon’s vision. It shows that commercial success and community service are not competing interests, they are complementary forces that, together, help us build a better future.
