Matthew’s Day to Make a Difference
.
At Prosperon, CSR is more than just a buzzword – it’s a commitment to our community.
My name is Matthew, and I work within the finance department here at Prosperon. I used my volunteering day to attend the Year 10 Inspiration Day event at Cleeve Park School in Sidcup, London. The day consisted of students partaking in mock interviews with professionals from a range of industries and was the culmination of a two-week work experience placement. These sessions also allowed me to provide feedback and general career advice I wish I had received during Year 10.
I chose Cleeve Park School because of personal connections to the school, but mostly because I wanted to support pupils who may not always feel that certain academic or professional opportunities are within reach. I hoped that by sharing my own experiences, I could encourage them to think ambitiously about their futures and show that their background does not have to define what they can achieve. Similarly, as the day suggested, I hoped to inspire the students and prove that background does not limit one’s career path nor one’s destination.
I encourage anyone with the opportunity, to attend future Cleeve Park School events and get involved with inspiring our future generations. It is of the utmost importance that current students are fully aware of the range of opportunities available to them and do not face any actual or perceived barriers to entry.
Prosperon is committed to equal opportunities, diversity, equality, and inclusion. This is more than just a workplace; we are a community where our people can thrive and perform their best, whilst being able to give back along the way.
